What is XM lacking? missing?

WHat is XM radio missing? or not providing you with?

Provide a description of what you think they could do better?

Ill start:
1 Electronica Lounge music
2 Howard Stern
3 More Sports stations
4 Extended weather forecasts, usually they are just daily forecasts
5 better sound: voices sound "tinny"
6 Hawaiian or Island music (besides reggae)

Better sound quality for sure. My father has Sirius and you can hear the difference in sound quality between XM and Sirius. I believe this has been tested and from what I remember, it has to do with the coding, plus an extra satellite certainly helps as well.

Better and consistant sound quality, and a scrolling display that shows the station, artist and name of the current song.

I agree with Treblig. The sound quality is not consistent nor is the name of the artist/song. Sometimes I wonder if XM is just some kid with a bunch of downloaded mp3's. The sound quality varies from song to song and the talk radio almost always sounds dull unless you've got the volume turned all the way up.

How about a "world" channel dedicated to Celtic music and other channels dedicated to other world music types? Seems like the current channel line up is mostly African or Carribean/Reggae. There is lots of other world music besides these: Indian (American and East), Asian, Slavic, German, Greek, Celtic, Hawaiian, Indonesian, etc.

It would be nice to see a broader range here with some more dedicated channels to music types. Seems like there is too much lumped into channel 100. It also seems like they play the genres from channels 101 and 102 on 100. How about some set up by world region?

The comedy channels (mainly 150) are what sold me on XM. The music channels are great for when you are cruising along, but when stuck in daily commuter traffic, the comedy channels help make the drives bearable.

Sound quality is definitely an issue - especially on the traffic/weather channels. I don't expect them to be CD quality, but they sould like computer generated voices from the Commodore 64 days.

I wish more channels were unedited/uncensored.

I would like it if you could punch a button and have the TL's Navi screen display a list of channels. There are some channel numbers that I routinely remember even though I do not have them on my presets, but then there are others that I listen to less frequently for which it would be nice to have the numbers easily available for faster tuning.

Sound quality has been mentioned, but specifically, I feel that what's really missing is 6-channel audio (Digital 5.1). I know that it would probably take a major upgrade (or possibly replacement) to their satellites, but that wasn't the question. I want 6-channel sound, pure and simple.

XM is lacking better sound in our car As I said in a earlier thread, xm sounded much better w/ my pioneer head unit/tuner. Anyone know who makes our xm tuner? panasonic? but i do notice when you but up the volume to the 30-39 range it sounds better in the fwy's

other than that i need more dance stations like sirus and theres a station i like from what i heard in my friends g35 is a remix station of popular music.

like they will blend in songs from 2 totally different genere's like destinys child and nirvana,

Sound quality for sure needs improvement. It would be nice if XM would broadcast music in CD quality. XM offers a lot of different stations but I would trade fewer stations for better quality sound. But having said this, it is nice to have XM 71 Smooth Jazz, because in my town there are no Jazz stations at all.

It looks like XM added an internet streaming option, but they are charging $4 a month. I'm not saying that's a lot, but I know Sirius offers (or at least offered) it for free. Anyone try out the XM streaming? Is Sirius still including it in standard subscription?

Golf on the radio? Golf on tv is quite possibly the most boring thing ever but having someone describe the shots over the radio?
