i just bought an '05 acura tl with nav 4 days ago. i have searched the forums, but no one seems to have my specific problem. when i try to pair ANY PHONE (iphone, blackberry, android) it will go all the way to "what would you like to name this device" and when u give it a name, it will make the hanging up sound and.......hang up . and i've tried clearing everything, and doing it again and again about 35 times.
since people might not have had this problem before, i won't ask how to fix it. but i do want to know if i should go into the hfl module and unhook and hook the plug and try it again. or maybe even try to replace it. do u think this might help? any answers and/or suggestions would be great. thank you

Unplug the battery for 15 mins let the computer reset

 

I just had that problem recently ... When I got to naming the device I held the button to talk n said a name ... U gotta make sure it isn't too short though ... I was starting to worry but it finally worked ... Try this

thanks for the suggestions guys, i tried unplugging the negative on the battery for 20 minutes, then i tried about 15 different names (short and long) and it still didn't work......i've decided to just let it be......for now.....

 

Did u hold the talk button down at the same time? Make sure u do that ... I know it's frustrating because when I first bought my car it worked no prob

 

I've had this same problem since I've owned it now 7 yrs. Eventually it takes my input and everything works. The one think I notice is that I can't use the same name twice, ever. And that means even names which didn't work Meaning if I get a new blkberry, I can't use the name 'new blackberry' as it contains 'blackberry' which was the original or if i used the name TLiPhone and it didn't take i cant try to use it again Try obscure words when naming it like Safeway , vizio, highchair,.....etc. that's what I now started to use. Worth a shot
