What does the nav control?

I'm buying an 08 TL-S tonight, with navi. The dealer does not have the nav disc in hand, they're telling me they will have it to me in 7-10 days.

My question is, what else is controlled by the nav disc, that I will not be able to use/control between now and when I get the disc?

navi just controls navigation.
there are a clusterfuck of buttons that you use to control other aspects, like A/C, Radio...etc.

thanks for the info! I was under the impression that other functions would not work without the disc in the trunk (bluetooth, voice command, etc).

All TLs have the HandsFreeLink system (referred to on this forum as the HFL), so that's not dependent on the navigation disc.

The voice commands for the stereo and AC are not available in non-Navi TLs, so those most likely do require the disc (I've never experimented to confirm whether that is indeed the case).

You won't have easy access to the audio controlls. You can still use them (I think) but it's a bit harder without the screen. I've heard the disk allows you to have the standard F/R fade and subwoofer controls. It would be interesting to see if these options disappeared without the disk.

I assume everything else will work without the disk since they do on non-navi cars but you never know how it's integrated.

you can still control the stuff on the screen w/o the disc. Just press the "Audio" button on the lower right corner and you are good.
