Last year, I saw somebody post about a car mount for the iPhone that hooked onto the decorative metal plate next to the head unit. I can't find this thread and I don't remember what the mount was called.

Does anybody know what the unit is called or have any other recommendations for attractive iphone mounts that don't involve using the vent?

On the Proclip website it has a few interesting options but all of the good ones say "without cases, bumpers, or skins" and I have a Zagg full body wrap for my iphone. Does it really make that much of a difference with or without a skin? I don't want to spend 70 bucks on a car mount and then find out that I can't use it.

 

i dont think the skin would make a significant difference.. which iphone are you using?.. i'd be more worried if you had a full case going on
