Not sure to wait to see how this pans out 4 months since it started, or go with the JBL solution..

Bad News Friday. 04.11.08.

Manufacturer I originally wanted to work with decided that this project is not worth it for them to pursue with the increase in metal prices and even if I were to absorb the costs they didn't want to help me out. This is after keeping me on a leash of promises that everything will work out soon and asking me for more money. 4 months of patiently waiting has not paid of.

I do apologize to those who patiently waited. I've already contacted a few other potential manufacturers already but don't want to keep this thread up until I have a solid working prototype again. Thank you for sticking with me.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or e-mail me.

Thank you.

So you went from having a manufacturer, to not having anything five months later, to having a sub 4 months later?

Is this new company actually producing anything, or is this another venture that will fail in 9 monthes again?

Not to sound like a dick, I just think it's kind of odd since there were no updates as to "Hey - I found someone again". Since you've got pictures, I would assume the test phase is over with, or do you have pictures of hawaii or something?

We went from having a manufacturer, who told us that they were working on it for 4 months, to pretty much just receiving back the stock subwoofer with an e-mail saying costs were too high, and they can't do it. Should have seen it coming. This was from a highly reputable company, as well.

At that point, I decided to close this thread until "I have a solid working prototype". And now I do. =)

After a dozen or so companies, and many different samples, and setups... I found one that satisfied worked with my parameters and satisfied my goal.

We've been fine tuning this setup over the past month, and trust me I've been wanting to update you guys as soon as I got this, but I just didn't want to risk getting everyones hopes up again.

Hope this clears things up!

Yes!!!

Good job as always Mike. I agree with everything you said, it's better to have a solid foundation and then update, rather then updating on every little step. Can't wait!

I did the same thing. But since i'm not 100% satisified with it, i'd still consider this.

Would this work with an aftermarket amp as well?

im curious to see too... is this gonna be designed to run off the stock amp/wiring, or will there be contacts to hook up an aftermarket amp instead of splicing ?

I'm very interested, just about to start a little custom project involving a 10 in. sub, but now my plans are officially on hold until further details surface about this exciting venture. Where are the pics please???
