Okay - I got my NAV unit back from Alpine and plugged it in. Everything works, but the NAV's voice doesn't work. Also - my Bluetooth will pick up the phone, but the microphone/speakers don't work. Lastly; my voice commands won't work, either.

A shop replaced my radio a few weeks ago - this is probably what caused it. Anybody have a suggestion as to what this problem is?

The shop should have some sort of warranty. Take it back to them.

Sounds like the HFL is unhooked or dead.

The shop claims that the radio is out of warranty. (only 3 mo.) What is the HFL? I'll check that out right away. Thanks.

"Hands Free Link" a.k.a. Bluetooth unit.
The HFL contains the mic for the Navi and voice commands, too.
