i think the razor is too flat for me. anybody else know of any new verizon phones comin out? my old 2 year contract actually ends this tuesday and was really hyped about gettin the e815.

 

Wow, thanx man. I've been waiting for verizon to come out with the razr. I guess it finally passed some tests, lol. The Razr is hot. tupees!!!

 

Why is everyone so hyped about the razr? I's really a quite primitive phone, especially when compared to other phones in it's price range. Not to mention it's been out for a long time and it's pretty old.

 

doesnt give you that bulge in your pocket. Ive never been a fan of putting my phone on my belt. Looks nerdy or trying to hard. Just an opinion.

 

The combination of thin/light weight is still amongst the best in the industry.

 

yea i am in for a new phone cause of the lawsuit against verizon dealing with the V710. Its either between the New Razr or The new Treo 700 with windows Mobile 5.

 

The Nokia 6256i (Better known as 6255i) has been released to radio shack and best buy. It will eventually make its way into the verizon corporate stores.

 

Anyone know what's up with the lawsuit anyway? A buddy of mine and I both have had major problems with the V710. We recently made a big scene at the store because of this stupid phone. I've had my phone replaced "by verizon" 3 times because the battery port would keep going bad on me where it couldn't even hold a charge. However, verizons quick fix was to replace it with a REFURBISHED phone of the SAME model. Go figure!!!

I have a bunch of friends who have Cingulars Razr and they love it. The phone definitely looks hot especially compared to the other phones verizon carries..

The lawsuit is only for bluetooth. It does not cover other problems liek you are describing. You can probably convince them to give you credit towards another phone.

 

I have had the same problem (battery port) with the 710 three times. Verizon said if it happened again that they would replace the phone with a different model. I heard from a Best Buy salesman that the price of the Razr should only be around $100 with activation. I guess this is to compete with Cingular's pricing. I have not heard of any problems with the Razr. Has anyone heard of any problems people are experiencing with the phone on Cingular?

 

yes, the razr from cingular has been out for a while, but the RAZR for verizon is has a 1.3mp camera and mini SD. cingular is also getting a new RAZR with 1.3mp camera, mini SD itunes and a 1.5" extenal screen.

I hate it, and I should point out that the razr is going to cost $499.99 with a 2 year contract, $549.99 with a 1 year contract and I believe $600 for no contract.

 

It was out wayyyyy before Cingular got it.

I just got a new phone from VZW and considered holding off for the razr. Other than being slimmer, I couldn't see any reason to get it. Ok, it looks cool but I'm hard on phones and it looks to be more fragile. Considering cost and functionality (not looks) I went with the E815 and don't think I'll regret it. After all, I'm talking on it not looking to make a fashion statement.

 

Jay 2 you have the same problems that I do with the 710. Lets hope the Razr isn't like that.

i just broke my phone and am up for an upgrade and have been waiting for the Razr. The pricing has been all over the place and until they announce something definite I tend to think the 500 with a 2 year price is incorrect.

If anything, I'd have no prob going with the E815 like Shark did. It does look sturdier and i do abuse my phones.

 

A VZW source on another forum verified a $500 price with 2 year contract.

 

I have the Razr from Cingular. It works great in my 05 TL. I fell in love with the Bluetooth capabilities and the phone n=was no more than other decent phones. I refuse to sign up for more than a year with any cell service so I paid more for the phone but even at $249.00 I am very happy with it. It is so light that I never feel it in my pocket. It's a great phone and works great in your TL!

 

At $250 I see the VZW razr doing well.

IMO, it will launch at $500 with 2 year contract; however, give it a couple months and after all the hype is over with - it will drop in price - exactly like it was with cingular.

Well, I checked on Howardforums and now everyone is once again speculating on the next release date. On the Verizon Site, it now does say the phone is coming soon. Maybe in a week?

 

I have the VZ e815, I love it, its one of the best phones I ever had.

 

Today was supposed to be the date it is announced and next monday is supposed to be the day that it is actually released. It could change though.

 

Dec 7th online Dec 12th in stores..

It has been released today (not yesterday) online and is $199.99 after $100 instant rebate.

ive heard stories of people flipping these phones open and having them break. even the sales rep at the verizon store reccommended not getting it because of masssive amounts of people coming in with messed up razr's

 

how would sales reps at the verizon store know? it was just released for them today

thats why you pay the $6/month for insurance on it

So what? It doesn't mean that they don't know about the Cingular and T Mobile customers who got problems with it.

Insurance doesn't mean much when they might just give you a refurb for the broken one...

 

I got the V815 and it works just fine. I wish that Verizon had released this phone 6 months ago. I would have gotten it.

 

I've just ordered mine from Verizon, as an upgrade from v710 (should recover most of the money spent, by selling it on Ebay)

 

I won't put any kind of phone, and ESPECIALLY not a Blackberry, in my pocket, especially my FRONT pocket. Not because of bulges, though; rather, you know all that stuff that's been reported about whether cell phone radiation is hazardous to your brain? Well, if that's true, are we supposed to believe it's less hazardous to your nuts?
