Verizon phones and AcuraLink

I was looking on acura's page and from what i see verizon doesnt have a single phone that will upload ur phonebook or send a contact?

there are a few phones that say that they allow "phone data connection" which is necessary for a fully functioning AcuraLink, correct?

does anyone have a 2007 TL with verizon as their carrier? Does anyone have a phone that works fully? according to acura's HFL page.. there's not much

anyone know how to hack a phone to get it to work?

i have the Moto E815 and was going to get the krzr but it seems that THAT phone is even more useless (no call waiting, no data connection, etc)

somebody help!!!! =) or should i be calling verizon and blasting them AGAIN for locking all their damn phones.

I have an e815/Verizon and am just dealing with it. Looks like Sony/Ericsson phones are the only ones 100% compatible. I thought about getting one just to transfer numbers to the Nav, still might do it later on.

Go ahead, blast Verizon, they deserve it!

I just purchased an '07 MDX only to now find out I can't import my phonebook from my Blacberry 8530 (verizon). I guess I'm screwed and have to only inpu numbers of a few key people manually?

'07 with Verizon here. You can do it, but you're gonna need a Droid. Mine works perfectly.

(edit)

I'd not be surprised if any Android phone will work for this, not just the Droid specifically. Google was pretty clear with Verizon that they can't lock out any OS features on the Droid, and that would probably extend to the other android phones as well. If you want, I'll run a test on it Wednesday with my SO's Eris.

I have the Samsung Omnia (smart phone) on Verizon and it is fully integrated/compatible with my 2007 TL type S. In addition to the basics, the car displays battery status and signal strength. I imported my phone book into the Navigation and it has stored 968 entries. This seems to be the max. I can dial directly from the Navigation screen without handling my phone. Only thing is if you need to enter another numbers after the call is initiated, you would have to do it from the phone.

I have an '08 and a Droid. I was able to pair the phone but haven't been able to transfer any contacts.

Were you able to transfer your contacts?

thanks -

I have an '08 and a Blackberry Tour on Verizon and I'm able to transfer my contacts to the nav system. Is this what you're talking about, or is there a way to transfer contacts to the actual HFL voice dial without manually inputting them?

Acura doens't list the BB Tour 9630 on their website, but lists the BB Curve 8530 (which is newer) on the site...odd

Yes. In fact, I've done it twice. After I did it the first time, I ended up adding and deleting so many contacts that I just erased and retransfered. No problems either time.

Each time I’ve attempted it, I got a message saying ‘zero contacts transferred’. (Or something to that effect) I’m using the Bluetooth File Transfer app.

How were you able to transfer yours?

I had the car initiate the transfer, not the phone. It's in the info menu, if I recall (it's been awhile, and I don't play in that menu very often)
