DonkeyKang i have turned off my X and K alert and keep it on All bogeys all the time. In the Orlando area, X and K are almost obsolete...

Valentine 1 is a radar detector.

I use advanced logic to reduce the amount of falses because I do a lot of city driving. I still get false alarms though.

Thats exactly why i have turned the X and K bands off. They drive my V1 crazy cause its only door openers and nothing else. And when my radar does go off, its either Ka or Lazer, so i know for sure its a real threat.

I leave it in logic -- there are advanced settings on Valentine1.com if I wanted to spend the time "tuning" my V1 (ie: turn on Ku, turn off X, etc.)

In Beaverton, Oregon there we have a lot of advanced technology but I've noticed that the radars at stoplights are X so I decied I would stick with Advanced Logic

All Bogeys, all the time. You get used to the beeping of false alarms. It's much better than the alternative. Plus, I don't live in the city, so the falses are very intermittent and consistent (i.e. I know where they are).

BTW - no tickets in the 7 years since I've had my Valentine 1 (plenty before that - coincidence?).

By advanced settings, he meant, setting up your V1 manually to turn off any bands you think or not required, or turn on the KU band (used in europe), here are some directions on hardwiring your V1. This thread was started by deandorsey.
