In an attempt to always find the latest and greatest phone,
I purchased a Motorola V635 for use in my '04 TL. Thought
I'd share this experience with others who might be in
the market for a new phone. This phone is not made for
the US, but works fine with Cingular on 850MHz. I live
in the Philadelphia area.

I previously had a Sony T637 which is a great phone, but
I was hankering for a cool flip phone that had 850MHz
(Cingular) and worked well with the TL. The newer Samsung
and Sony flip phones which are Bluetooth, don't have 850MHz
and are unknown with working with the TL.

With the exception of battery strength (minor issue to me),
the V635 works beautifully in the TL. The sound quality
is much clearer and louder than the T637 - this is the
biggest thing to me. If the sound quality is poor, it's a
bad experience if you ask me. The T637 sound quality
tended to be staticy and of low volume. I always
assumed that's just how it worked. But the V635
is loud and perfectly clear all the time.

The phone itself is very well made and probably the best
flip phone I have every seen or used, it's solid as a rock
cause the other casing is metal. The keypad is A-1
in terms of being solid and having a great feel and the
flip itself does not feel like it will break in half. This is
how many lower end flip phones feel to me.

No problems with answering calls as I had in older VXX
models, so no firmware upgrade appears needed.
