V1 hardwire in sunroof of 05 TL?

Does anyone have a step by step guide to hardwire a V1 to the sunroof switch? I just bought my TL and dont want to fry anything or break a panel. I'm electronicly retarded. It doesn't seem to difficult.

Here you go:

use an invisicord makes it easier.

I did mine a couple of years ago, turns on with the key, stays on until you open the door.

It's pretty easy to run the hardwire down the A pillar and wire it right into the fuse panel, no extra cables or anything and you can probably do it in 15-30 minutes. Theres how tos on it in the 3G Garage.

I wired my V1 that way (under the headliner, down the A pillar, and up through the vent for the Remote display. Then wired it to the power window fuse so I have an instant killswitch for my radar detector/laser jammer - Useful in VA). Took less than 60 min for the whole thing and I took my time. Spent the most time trying to fernagle one of the kick panels back on.

Your mounting position is not good and I don't understand why you are running a detectable V1 unit in VA? I would have gone escort or belltronics for the stealth. Anyway, I don't understand where your kill switch is? Are you saying that you also installed a kill switch?

1: Are you saying the mounting position is bad because it's high instead of low? Or because it's behind the tint strip.

I've had it mounted both high and low and have never missed a beat when it comes to a radar or laser hit mounted high. I also have blinders in the grill for laser coverage. The tint strip does not effect performance to any degree that I've been able to tell.

2: I live in NY but drive to VA a few times a year. The STi was more expensive for a feature I really don't need. I've blown past multiple troopers in VA with the unit. I don't have a seperate killswitch, the V1/Jammers are wired into the power window fuses. This means when I hit the power window lock on the door, it cuts power to the V1. As soon as I start picking up radar in VA I can slow down, cut the power, and glide past the cop with no issues. Once I'm further down the road I can turn it back on.

BTW I lived in southwest VA for 5 years and several of my friends ran detectors all the time. The only ones who were ever caught were pulled over for something else and then couldn't hide their unit in time. Not saying there aren't cops out there running the spectre RDD units, but if you cut your power fairly quick theres no easy way for them to identify you, especially if you're near other cars and the unit can't be seen from the outside.
