V-600 Question

I have a ATT branded V-600 and I've heard that there is a way to setup the phone so that bluetooth only operates when there is a bluetooth device nearby, and that it drops off to save battery power when not in use. At first my phone would only show the bluetooth icon when near my TL, but now, the bluetooth icon blinks even when the car isn't nearby. I don't know what happened, but I might have changed the settings accidently. Now, I don't know how to reset the bluetooth. I have the battery save option turned on, and bluetooth power "on", and I'm getting the blinking icon unless I turn off the bluetooth power. I believe someone mentiond that there was a shortcut to save bluetooth power, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have any ideas??

I tried to set the "Battery Save" to on and the phone kept dropping the bluetooth connection to HFL. I read other posts that mentioned this and now I have battery save set to OFF.

Also under "Car Settings" I have set the Power-Off setting to Continuous.

I dont think that there is a way to have the bluetooth powered on only when required. I know that these settings suck the battery - alternative I keep the phone connected to a charger in the car all the time.

The strange thing is that last week, the bluetooth seemed to never show the icon on the phone when it was away from the car. Now, my phone always shows the bluetooth icon blinking when it's away from the car...and as I get close to my car..the icon stops blinking and "links" to the car. I don't know if I changed some setting by accident...but I know it's not acting the way it did when I first setup the phone. It's no big deal...since I can still turn off the bluetooth feature when I'm not using it...but it seems that there is something strange going on...and it's probably me not knowing how to properly program the phone. Does anyone else go crazy trying to decipher cell phone manuals?
