UTStarcom/ Audiovox XV6600 With Camera??

I am on VZW network and pretty happy with my V710 but I have my eye on the XV6600 with Camera. I have read a few posts saying it works with the TL, but doesn't have the signal strength or battery. This was also the case when the v710 came out and now its working great.

Now for the questions.

1. Does this phone work perfectly with the TL minus the batter and signal strength? (i.e. call home, you have an incoming call, transfer)

2. Will the signal strength or battery ever be added to the phone for display on the car?

3. Is anyone having problems with the phone that they want to share?

Unhappy I have the xv6600 with camera...and...

Scuba629,

I just sold my V710 and bought a xv6600 with camera on Verizon's network. With the default ROM, the phone pairs fine with the HFL system, however there is no audio on incoming or outgoing calls. I had to install the latest (3900B) ROM in order to get the audio to work. After I make or receive a call with the HFL system, if I get out of the car and attempt to make a call, I get no audio on the handset. I've found no resolution to this problem. I'm sending it back and waiting for the i730 (Sweet looking phone) to come out, or the vx8100. Oh, redial also does not work.

Other than the HFL compatibility issues, the phone is pretty nice. The audio is pretty low. I really noticed the audio was MUCH lower on my bluetooth headset and on the HFL system than my V710.

FYI: I have an Audiovox SMT5600 on AT&T for work. It works GREAT through the HFL system and on my bluetooth headset! Wonder when a Verizon phone will work as good as a Cingular/AT&T phone.

Good luck!

One more thing...

One more thing.....

I noticed it would take up to a minute for the phone to pair with the car every time I got in it, where the V710 and SMT5600 always paired instantly.

I might just wait till the i730 comes out too. I just looked at it. I see it has the option for WiFi and Camera. Wonder what verizon will put on it.

Thanks for the info on the xv6600.
