Using a different navigation dvd-rom (disc)?

I have a question about the TL navigation dvd-rom (disc) & navigation computer system. Can you use another car manufacturer's Navi disc or aftermarket navi-disc instead of the Acura Navi disc? Do you think the Acura TL navigation system will only work with the Acura navigation disc? I ask because I was driving alot this weekend and noticed that the navi dvd-rom disc didn't have some streets mapped out. There are newer streets that were mapped and some older streets that weren't. Shouldn't this disc (ver. 340A) have the most current info and have older streets mapped vs newer streets (like new tollway, freeway, subdivision streets, etc.)?

If other navi discs have more options and features, I wonder if the Acura Navi System will utilize that. Thanks for your reply.

I guess no one has concerns with this stuff? I guess I can drive to the Infiniti dealership and see if their navi cd will work in the TL.
