USB touchscreen interface

would this type of unit work with the navi-based touchscreen? If it is a four wire resistive controller then theoretically any USB controller designed for four-wire resistive systems should work, no?

Anyone try this? This would be the ideal solution (if it works of course) for navi-owners trying to integrate a carputer.

It should work, but you would need to wire up the USB cord. The one MET152 posted came with a USB cord with it.

Well it looks like I will be going the route of accessing the touchscreen interface rather than get a different LCD.

I know csmeance had attempted mass-production but according to his thread there is no mass-produced module available. Is there anyone out there willing to make a module for a fee? I have no problem manipulating the ribbon cables, but I am somewhat hesitant regarding fine pin soldering. Is there anyone out there reading this that would be willing to make a module? Please PM me if you can, thanks.

While I was looking on another forum I came across a user who used a USB touchpad for input. That looks to be even more pain-free for installation compared to making a module. Has anyone had success using a touchpad? It could be placed around the armrest or within the cupholder for those also curious.
