USB flash drive with stock deck?

Is there any way of hooking up a USB flash drive to the stock 3rd gen Acura TL deck? I Have a 2005 with navi and when I bought it the previous owner had installed an Ipod cable through the back of the deck but the sound quality does not sound good. I'd rather put music on a USB flash drive but is this possible? Thanks in advance!

It depends on what that person used. There are several adapters out there and I'll assume it simply converts the iPod cable into an auxiliary cable directly installed in the back of the head unit.

Yes you have to get an adapter from the back of the deck though.

Just burn music and put it on a DVD-A. You'll get 4.7gb per DVD so roughly 28 gigs worth of music!! AND you can burn it in FLAC format on a DVD-A. 28 gigs and the best possible sound quality and you have nothing to buy. I'd go that route

Yea but then if a new song comes out you have to burn a whole new DVD again. With a USB flash drive you can just add the song to the drive

Yeah true. I don't listen to any of this new shit called music. I constantly compile old music, new music, rock to country to rap so I always have room for a new DVD-a.

Haha yeah. Some of it can be good, obviously because all artist come out with new stuff, but Itunes "new songs" page, etc is just bad. To the OP, I'd look at getting an Ipod and one of the many Ipod connections for our TL. Easiest way

The deck in the 04/06 TL cannot handle mp3s in any form. Sorry.

If you have a 07-08, there is an aux-in port in the console that takes a stereo headphone jack.

This is what I installed about a month ago: http://diceelectronics.com/media-bridge-info

I have a USB card reader with a 16GB microSD plugged in and works. I wouldn't say it's the best interface, but it works. Takes some getting used to and playing around with. You just have to figure that the TL radio wasn't designed for this type of AUX input, so the developers of the interface for the DICE had to get a little creative.
