URGENT: Sticky Thread Needs Attention

As a new forum member here (not even close many other places though), I know how aggravating it is when new people come to post the same questions over and over again. With that being said, there are 10+ people in the "Nav. Hack" Sticky Thread that need help with the OK-Button removal software from Kenny C. The 2 downloads in the thread no longer work and there are people trying to get the software for the version 3.40c, me being one of them! Soo....I thought they I would bring attention to this and maybe we can go back through that sticky to find out which downloads are dead links now and maybe renew them somehow so all the new guys can find their info, and so when we refer to this thread, it actually works.

So does anyone have the links/files to the 3.40c "KennyC" OK button removal?? This would be a great help to me and others while helping maintain the site....Thanks guys!

The problem is that no one wants to sift through 30+ pages of thread to get the few required tidbits for this mod. Admittedly, the thread could use a TON of editing, but that's assuming the mods know enough about the particular subject to know what posts are garbage and what posts are important. That is kind of difficult with this topic as one would need knowledge of computers, file sharing, the various utilities involved, hex editors, cd-burning, c: prompts, minor scripting and numerous others. Better to leave ALL of the information in the thread and let everyone have the same chance to extract what they need.

The fact of the matter is that everything you need to accomplish the hack, no matter what navi version you have, is listed in the thread somewhere. I just now went back through it and found a bunch of links that are still alive. If you are computer savvy (or know someone who is) you should be able to get through it and be successful. There is a reason this mod is called a "Navi HACK", in that it requires the same skills as computer hacking to accomplish successfully. One of the basic tenets of computer hacking is sharing of knowledge, thus the thread you are referring to. However, if you are looking for your hand to be held or free tech support, get over it, move on and install a CAI or some other mod.

Please excuse my outburst. I don't intend to be cold-hearted or callous, but the info is there. Go back, check your work, do more research and keep trying.

....Ugh...Ok man, not sure if you even read my post but I was requesting the file for the 3.40c "ok" button removal. NEVER! did I say I needed help or needed someone "hold my hand and give me free tech support". If you would have read the post instead of being a complete asshat you would see that I'm trying to help other people on the forums complete the task since the links are in fact dead! I could give 2 shits about how to do it, what a "hack" is, or what I need to complete this mod.....b/c I never asked for any of that! But you'd know that if you read the post.

If you just went back through the thread and found links that were still alive....why the hell wouldn't you post them? I obviously don't have the power to edit threads like the Mods but when it's a very popular thread and certain things are needed....it might be best to maintain the links. Excuse my attempts to help other members start the project seeing how the links they need on the front page aren't working. Next time, instead of immediately posting and taking out whatever shit you have going on in your life on people you don't know (that are trying to help other people JUST LIKE YOU!), read the post before you make ridiculous remarks

Dude first off nobody is going to want to help someone that comes access like you are especially being a new member. You can make the file yourself using the files off your disk, read through the threads I had to do the same as I was getting no answers it was frustrating but I eventually got it hacked.

Lol..yeah..my first post was just extremely rude and mean. I don't have time or the knowledge to do that, I was going to follow the simple instructions I found on the first page and throughout the thread to complete the hack. Not only do I not know how to pull the files off, but I'm also a full time Engineering student and work full time. I'm not sure why it so hard to realize that I was trying to help myself and others by asking for the file that is no longer in the sticky....I mean wouldn't it help!! You wouldn't have new people making threads or extending the "bullshit" in the sticky thread when its not needed. I have no reason to make a 2nd post like that but when someone doesn't even read the thread and assumes I need my "hand held".....gimme a break!

What your failing to realize is there is not just "one" file that will work for everyone each disk versions a different file, plus there are different things you can add to these files such as trip mod, specific wallpaper, & OK nag removal. None of the files I found when looking even worked for my disk version (3.5) so I had to take the dvd stick it in my computer and copy them over. The truth is I cracked mine 4 months ago and I don't really remember how the hell I finally got it working I ruined quite a few CDs though. Take 2 hours out of your schedule sit down and you'll figure it out!

Well thanks for the good luck wishes but I really have no clue what the hell I'm doing when it comes to hacking "programming" type stuff haha. I know there are different hacks you can do but I'd just like to do the OK removal right now because it seemed simple and wouldn't drive me crazy trying to figure it out since its only one thing. From what I could tell from the sticky is that a download for the 3.40c version by KennyC was needed along with the files from your nav. dvd. I've tried to find the KennyC download that we need to I guess convert the files or something of that nature but both of the bolded downloads that were being used are now dead links.
