Upgrading for streaming bluetooth

Im looking to upgrade for blutooth music or video from my htc one(m8) to the nav screen while still keep steering wheel controls on my tl. I also want to improve the sound quality. Im open to any suggestions, ideas, prices.

Im thinking something like navtool. Media player. It already has a backup camera. Htc one integration or something along those lines with easy plug n play harnesses.

I've looked for a way to stream from Android phone to my TL-S. Haven't had no luck so far. And I as well are getting ready to install NavTool along with Android Mini PC for my movies. Here is a list I made for myself. Maybe you can use it too:

Need to Buy:
1.)$200.00-VIDEO INTERFACE
2.)$ 50.00-ANDROID MINI PC
3.)$ 3.00-RCA TO SPDIF CABLE
4.)$ 5.00-HDMI TO RCA CABLE
5.)$ 6.00-HDMI CABLE
6.)$ 2.00-AUDIO Y ADAPTER
7.)$ 3.00-HDMI ADAPTER
8.)$ 3.00-SPDIF AUDIO CABLE
9.)$ 15.00-MICRO SD CARD
$287.00-TOTAL
Need to Run:
1.) HDMI CABLE - 15FT
2.) SWITCH CABLE - 15FT
4.) AUDIO CABLE - 15FT

I'll terminate/crimp everything else in trunk itself next to XM Receiver.

?? The iSimple doesn't stream bluetooth? If not, why wouldn't you simply install an aftermarket deck with this capability? Am I missing something?

If you *don't* mean stream via Bluetooth, then maybe USB? Again a new deck might be less trouble than the above.

If you mean video as well, there seems to be a new generation of decks w/ screens, e.g. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX3...od-DDX371.html.

Seems a lot more straightforward.... For navigation use Waze.

But... iPhone, yes, Android I don't know -- but there's a Pioneer that does the same stuff and works w/ Android.

I actually looked into an aftermarket Kenwood for video (I have XXV-05V in my 04' SPEC V), but I didn't want 2 screens or change OEM look. Plus aftermarket radio is a little lower than where deck supposed to be.

Second, with the Android Mini PC, you can have Internet, Apps, Games, etc all in OEM look/feel without having to hack your dash for tablet. This is all of course just me, and I've seen plenty clean tablet and aftermarket installs on here.

streaming bluetooth and improving sound quality do not belong together

For those of you that have an aux port in your armrest, use the bb stereo gateway. Plug it in, pair up your phone and done! Mine works well, best $50 I've spent.

Wow, that may be a good cheap way to upgrade. Lack of BT streaming was surprising to me considering I got a 2008. And the AUX is just about useless since I have to pull out my iPod/mp3 player to change songs.

Would that bb gateway be any better then other bluetooth inputs... For instance a cassette bt. I bought one of those, it wasn't bad, but I came to the conclusion the aux had better sound output.

I am selling a brand new unopened iSimple ISHD651 for $100 shipped. Check out my thread in the Black Market. This will do what you need plus some.

Based on all the reviews out there and from personal experience, if you have the AUX port the best BT streaming device to use is the Kinivo BTC450. Reviews alone, its better than the blackberry gateway although they do the exact same thing, but this product supports Aptx for high quality sound. So far...it sounds GREAT in the car....

Bought the BlackBerry Gateway and it's coming in Friday. Hopefully I can post good things about it.

Got my Blackberry Gateway today and it works flawlessly. Only downside is it needs to use the power outlet, as is the case with all of them from what I saw, otherwise it's great. Though the arm rest compartment has lost alot of space due to the wires

Maybe down the line I'll opt for something like that, but for now as a $30 fix, it's easy and does what I want. Possibly look into it when I have just a bit more spending money for toys because I'll have to pay for that unit and a friend to install for me.
