Does anyone know if the 2006 Navi can be upgraded to the 2007 Navi with support for the real-time traffic updates and all that? I would guess this might involve a new XM receiver as well to support the reception of the traffic info from XM...?

I searched the forum to see if this had been asked before, but I just keep seeing references to buying the DVD update....

yes it can be done, but will cost more than it's worth

you would need a new navi brain(peice in the trunk) new XM reciever, and a new headunit(for mp3 features, and auto volume control)

 

The only DVD update you can get for your 2006 (I have one too!) is the orange DVD for your particular Navi system. The white one which is included on the 2007 TL and other Acura models will NOT work. The functionality is in the actual navigation system and head unit itself.

If you must have it, it might even be easier AND cheaper to sell your 2006 and purchase/lease a new 2007.

 

Do you think they will make update disks for the 04-06 models past the 2006 disk or are we SOL now the new NAVI is out?

 

They made a new version of the 3.X (3.60) software when the '07s came out, so I would think they will continue to upgrade the navi disks annually.
