there are two codes that are required, one for the Navi and one for the drive. Did you buy them together? What you can do is contact the seller and ask, or write down the serial numbers to the drive and take them to acura, they can tell you the code for about 100 dollars or for free if the stealership is a good one.

I recently learned something about my TL
The radio code- which I had gotten by removing the radio and photocopying the serial number on the back- take to dealer with car reg to prove not stolen, and they looked up for free
Now I learned- when battery out for a few minutes- just radio code is needed
If you work on the car a while and put battery back in- the nav wants its own 4 digit code, different than radio code of course-
Contact the seller for copy of VIN number unit came from- thats how dealer looks it up
You want a bill of sale and copy of car reg showing VIN
Then dealer can look up in system
Mine of course is not in their system and tech says needs to jumper wire the unit to force it to give out code- at least they know me and will do it for donuts!

The "Go Home" thing doesn't sound right.
You can add a PIN to the Navi that protects personal information such as the GO HOME routing, Home address and owner name. But that PIN is entered into a *working* Navi system.
I don't think the code you need and the PIN to protect "home" are the same thing at all.

The dealers usually put two stickers with the codes either under the hood, or in my case it is on the glove box outter wall, I only seen this by accident the other day...just look around the glove box area.
And you should NOT be paying to retrieve a code from your car.

Thanks but I purchased the Drive from Ebay
and no Vin was provided which also means there wont be a code on my car anywhere, and I can get the VIN
That was my whole problem, If it was from my own car I would have the VIN
Thanks anyway

the nav dvd unit has a serial number on the top of it-
Take your ebay payment receipt and printout of the ebay listing as proof its not stolen, and they should hook you up no prob
Dont call- go in person and seek out the Service Manager
Others- not all years have stickers with the codes- make sure you know yours and log them on your account with acura here
