Turning off the navi

I like the way the Navi screen stays black if you don't ack the legalese.

Question: is there any way to recreate this, or turn off the navi, once you have started to use it?

Sometimes its nice to have the darkness.

Yes just go under setup and hit display, and screen off will do the trick

Is there a voice command to turn the screen on? and a way to turn it on if you did not press "OK" at start-up? using buttons?

There is no way to bypass pressing "OK," including voice commands. If you don't press "OK," NO voice commands will work.

If you voice-command the display off, maybe saying "Display on" or "Display map" might work. "Display map" works from other screens.

"Display off" is not a recognized command

If the display turns off because you didn't accept the nag screen, just push any button and the nag screen will be right there waiting for you to press OK.

what are you talking about ??? I use it everyday ... and just in case you misunderstood me. IT TURNS OF DISPLAY, it has nothing to do with the NAG screen. there is no way around other than pressing OK.

"Display on" works. I tried it last night. You have to be past the nag screen first, of course.

I thought it was a two step process to get the voice commands for this: "Set up" (gets you to 1st set up screen), then "Display Off" causes the screen to go blank. This is on a 04.

Woops! Just to add to the above. If you say "display off" from the Map/Guide Screen, it is interpreted as "display hotel or motel"

HOWEVER, if you you say "display off" from setup screen 1. Buh-bye goes the display.

Saying "Map/Guide" or display on, or pressing just about any button will turn the display back on.

This is actually pretty cool, but honestly, I haven't found a case where I really want the screen off
