Turn navigation screen off?

All,

Is there anyway to turn off the navigation screen on my 2008 Acura TL Type-S once you are driving. There are times that it is a late night, and I'm halfway through my route home and know the rest of the way home therefore not needing the NAV anymore. Is there a way to shut the screen off mid-trip? Its easier to drive without it when its a late drive home.

Thanks,

JC

either don't press the "ok" button when it fires up or just turn down the brightness substantially so it doensn't bug you.

idk if there is another way to turn it off or not. maybe someone else can chime in.

In addition to justnspace's method, you can use voice control to shut down the display:
1) "Setup"
2) "display off"

Note also that if you use the method of not pressing "OK" at the nag screen, you can still use voice-commands if you wish by hitting the voice-command button twice. Someone on this forum gave me that tip a few years ago, though I don't remember who it was.

Thanks for these tips, guys. I've also wanted to turn off the Navi screen when driving a long ways at night. These will do the trick!

Using the "Set-up" button to turn off the display per Justn's post(#3) will still work.

IDK if voice controls work with the HFL disconnected. You'll have to try the voice commands to see if they work or if the voice controls do not work because they use the HFL mic.
