Treo 650 Pairing

I just moved from AT&T to Cingular and got the Treo 650. I was able to successfully pair the Treo 650 to Handsfeelink, but everytime I get out of the car and come back later, the Treo is not recognized and I have to do the pairing process all over AGAIN.

Has this happened to anybody and what is the fix? On the Treo, I always keep Bluetooth "On" and Discoverable Mode to "Yes". Am I doing something wrong? My previous SE T637 would always automatically connect with the HFL when I got into the car.

Did you install the car update?

Take a look...if you haven't installed it, this will solve your problem.

I have the car update and the same phone and carrier. I have no problems at all with pairing when I get back in the car. It's all completely automatic.

same here - but you don't need to leave "discoverable" turned on on the Treo, and in fact you should probably turn it off so that others can't try to connect to your phone.

I've had no problems since updating the phone with the handsfree link patch available on palmone.com

I have the unlocked GSM phone, so I had no problems connecting from day one. I just looked at the PalmOne website, and obviously the Acura HFL doesn't give us all of the cool features that are available to Bluetooth phones. The BMW bluetooth system allows you to upload your phone numbers to the car, so you can scroll through all of the calls. I wish I could do that with the Acura, or at least see the last few calls I've made so that I can easily redial certain numbers. The display of caller ID is hit or miss.

Also, dialing from the phone is a hit or miss procedure with HFL. Sometimes I can make it connect to the HFL and sometimes not.

All in all, the HFL is "all right", but it's not as nice as the BMW system, which really takes advantage of all of the features of Bluetooth.

Thanks everyone. I did the carkit patch update and now it works like a charm. I thought that since I recently got the 650, that it would have all the updates already loaded from the manufacturer.

Now we just need the battery and signal indicator.
