Treo 650 - Call Waiting Broken?

Treo 650 - Call Waiting Broken?
Anyone have a problem with the Treo 650 when you try to do call waiting ("Send" on steering wheel) it hangs up on both people ? I also can't see signal strength or remaining battery. All three things work on my SonyEricsson T616.
Note that I have the unlocked GSM version which is behind on updates (so software 1.06 vs. the 1.08 on Sprint and Cingular).
