Tmobile branded V600

T-mobile has just released their V600!

Has anyone tried it yet? Any problems right out of the box with it for our TLs?

I'm thinking of picking it up if it doesn't have problems with the bluetooth connection in our cars.

Thanks in advance!

Depends on the software version on the phone. I flashed to 45R and the V600 now works flawlessly with the HFL.

Ok, so my next question would be;

Does anyone know what software version comes with the T-mobile branded V600?

OK, I did a little hunting over at HowardForums.com and came up with the following information for the software.

S/W Version TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.3AR_A
DSP S/W Version 62D5C500

Does this mean anything to anyone?

Is this software version give a green light for TL and V600 mating?

The T-Mobile V600 is tri-band. The ATT and Cingular V600s are quad-band. If you get the T-Mobile version and try to use it on the future ATT/Cingular network, you won't have a great experience as it will only have one of the US bands, the other two are the Euro bands.

You will have actually test the V600 with that version of the software with the TL to see if it works fine. I got my V600 from AT&T and it had software version TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.2DR and this version was not forwarding incoming calls to the HFL. I upgraded (flashed) my phone to TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R and it works just fine now. No issues...

How do you flash the phones? I have the V600 from Cingular and it works with thte HFL, do I need to get it flashed at Cingular or AT&T?

I have the V600 from T-Mobile, and have not had one problem with the HFL and the phone connecting, transferring or anything else. Perfect so far.

What does V600 show on MID?

Given that the V600 is working so well for you, what info shows on the MID? I'm considering switching my T-Mobile V300 to either V600 or SE T610 or Verizon V710. It seems that the Sony Ericsson phones consistently are showing the most info on the MID.

Mine is showing signal streangth, but no battery info. I am not really concerned about battery life while in the car, so not a big deal really.

So you have full capabilites with this phone? You can answer calls with the clamshell closed?

Also a question on the phone itself. How is the service with the V600? Do you get good RF signals?

I just leave it in my pocket closed and have had no problems at all. I am getting significantly better signal streangth and fewer dropped calls than my V70 the V600 replaced.

JetJock, the software version is also on a label behind the battery.

HuKaShI, I upgraded (flashed) to version 45R and the battery life still does not show on the MID.

Thanks for the info.

I was hoping the flash would have the battery life showing on th MID but I guess I can live without it. As long as all the other stuff works. Like being able to use it without the clam shell open.

Let us know of any other problems if you come across any!

Flashing the V600

Is flashing the phone something that the Cingular/T-Mobile/AT&T store has to do? Or, can you flash it in other ways?

Flashing is something that Motorola or a service center should do. Any other kind of flashing would risk voiding your warranty as Motorola frowns upon it.

I'm thinking about picking up a V600 tomorrow from T-Mobile and flashing it to see if I can enable 850...I think the software is different while the v600 internals are the same. hmm...

Thanks for the info. So far my V-600 is awesome. I had a SE 616 for 2 months, and although it displayed the battery strength, everything else about the phone sucked. At my mothers house, the SE phone would barely hold a call inside the house, and in the basement I had no signal. With the V-600 the reception is fine inside the house...and to my utter amazment it even works in the basement. Great phone!!!!!

I just got a T-mobile V600 phone to try out on my TL. I have successfully paired the phone to the car but it does not transfer calls to the HFL when the clamshell is closed. Are any of you with this phone having this same problem right out of the box?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to flash the phone.

I have 2 T-Mobile phones paired to the car and they both work just fine with the clamshell closed. I'v Checked and didnt find that I changed anything in paticular to make it work that way. I just followed the instructions on how to pair it from the acura website and both phones work just fine.

It started working on its own for some reason. I guess I wasn't pressing the HFL button at the right time when a call came in. It works pretty much flawlessly now. Weird.

I wasn't all too satisfied with T-mobile when I was using the Samsung e715. But now with the V600, I get very good signal strength from the spots that were previously bad.

Another quick question about the V600. So, last night, I forgot to hook up the charger to the phone before I went to bed. Last I remember the battery was full. I look at the phone this morning and its down to one bar. I come into the office and the battery dies.

So now I have it hooked up to the charger and its doing its thing. I had it hooked up since 10:30 this morning. I just looked at it and it just shows two bars blinking. It is now 2:10 pm.

1. How long does it take to fully charge this battery from when its dead?

2. Another question is, does having the bluetooth on standby during driving have a significantly larger drain on the battery?

I dont realy know how long it takes to charge, but My wife has been using the car since we've gotten our V600's and she has to charge the phone almost every day.
I havent charged mine in 3 days and the battery still has 2 bars.
I think the bluetooth does drain the battery alot faster.
Luckly they gave me a car charger!
