TL Navigation

I read a recent article that the navigation system on the 2005 MDX has updated features very similar to those that will be found on the 2005 RL. The system features a ZAGAT rating restaurant guide and includes reviews of thousands of restaurants in the continental U.S. Also, you are able to use the voice command button on the steering column to program specific city and street names into the system. This minimizes the need to use the onscreen keyboard to manually type in city and street names.

My question is this...do you think these new features are a result of an updated DVD, since the 2004 MDX navi didn't have them? Or, do you think there were hardware changes made to the system to incorporate these features.

I'm wondering if we will be able to purchase an updated DVD in the near future for the TL that will allow it to add the above features. It certainly would be nice.

It will be combination of DVD and firmware/software update. I think if it becomes available for 04 TL, it will be with a PCMCIA card to be put in the Nav DVD player in the trunk.

This is from 2005 MDX website. It looks a bit more sophiscated than 04 TL navigation.
