Has anyone had any problems with their factory cd player? Three weeks after buying my TL and only playing store bought cd's the entire cd player stopped working. The cd player still accepts cd and still ejects them when i push the buttons, but it cannot read the contents. I called up several dealerships and they gave me some run around. the service writer for neillo acura in sacramento told me that they were are huge backorder, when i asked if it was because of a known problem he said no, they just were for stock. i called up Marin Acura in Corte Madera and the service writer told me that the cd players were known to have problem and they are backordered through that parts dept as well. Im wording if there needs to be a recall on the item or maybe im just being told something to get me off their backs.

Also, i was told that they do not replace the cd player with a new one, but rather a remanufactured one from honda. that seems weird. oh well

 

no there is no recall on the radio. i think all car manufacturers use reman radios instead of new ones. i have replaced a couple of tsx radios but not any tls yet.

 

My factory CD player became frozen after a few weeks also in my 2004 TL with navigation.. It wouldn't accept or eject DVD's at all, but the radio did play fine and the navigation continued to work. My dealer checked it out and ordered a new for me and they gave me a loaner car while it was being replaced. It took perhaps two or three weeks to replace. Acura also compensated me for the DVD A disks I lost.

 

Keep calling around and Im sure ull find a dealer in the bay area that has the part in stock.
