Hey guys... i was thinking today about how cool it would be (maybe for the younger folk... or those younger at heart
) if we could have a mod where u stick a sub under or IN your seat, and you could adjust the amount of bass in it... and then you would get a great feel of the bass while your cruisin... lol - thats the fun side of me coming out... but the practical side is having a switch or an adjusting dial on the side...
just my

to add some (more) humor to your idea...
the whole idea of putting a sub under or in your seat is to feel the vibration of it....SO, why not take the much cheaper route and get yourself one of these...

and look, comes with a remote (instead of a dial)!
...but personally i find these to be umm... :ghey:

My friend has a shop where he modify everything you want in a car or truck. He did a F350 with 15inch subs in the back of the back seats....its all surounded with leather and it sounds like crazy...I tell you for my esperiance, I wouldn't sacrifice the confort of my TL seats for all the gold in the world. Vibration will get on your nurvs with time... I tried with truck and it is completly diabolic, nobody can stay on the seat for to long when te music is on....
Its a nice idea but totally crazy, unless you want to participate to carshows or sometin like that, I don't recomend this mod ....
PS I'll try to post some pics of the F350 soon.
My 2 cents!

yeah i wouldn't tear into the TL's seats...put it under the seat if anything...i've seen what you're talking about done before, but it's usually the back seats with the subs underneath them...
A couple of thoughts on this that both relate back to my previous vehicle, a 1994 Dodge Ram...
1) When I was researching sub options for the Ram, I found that JL made an enclosure that replaced the center cushion of the 40/20/40 bench with a sub enclosure. See this link: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...hp?fit_id=1436 . As you can tell from the picture, the thickness of that enclosure is significantly more than what our TL bottom cushions are. And note the line near the bottom: "Stealthbox® is not as comfortable to sit on as the factory seat cushion." That doesn't sound like something I'd want under my rump all day.
2) The Ram also had a built-in massager in the driver's seat when I bought it. Talk about making friends with the ladies. Just looking at the leather seats, you'd have no idea it was a massager. Then hit the switch and it came to life.
And fantom, that 'hits you in the chest' kind of bass that you're referring to takes space to develop. You're more likely to get that feeling from a high-end pair of 12" subs in the trunk than one 8" or 10" in the cushion of the seat.
