Was there a BIG improvement ELS V1 vs. V2?
Im pondering trading down yo could say from my current TL to a 09 TSX Tech. The power in that car I'm okay with as i owned this cars 87 octane cousin being the 08 Accord EX-L navigation. My question is, Would it be trading? As most of you know i use hand controls so moderate power. We've had a 1st gen TSX and I love lt. The new TSX is an equal in size to the 3rd gen TL. I am also seriously just sticking with the TL. I only oh 14k and 2yrs left on the loan if that. Keep in mind, I'm a paraplegic that uses hand controls. I can have a heavy hand but rarely so the 201hp vs. 258hp is not even in the equation. It's also looking like financing a new car is easier than used with Honda Finance than USED so i may go with a 13' Accord EX-L Tech.
Oh but b4 i forget the title. Is the 410watt ELS that much of a jump in sound compared to the 225watt 3rd gen TL?

I had a 2012 TSX loaner for 4 days, the stereo did sound a lot better and did crank. So yeah I'd say it was a big improvement if you plan on not doing any upgrades. I added 2 12's now and replaced everything except the rear speakers which was fairly easy to do so I wouldn't trade based on stereo alone. It was okay to drive, revs up very quick and the paddle shifters were kinda fun but I probably wouldn't use them much if I owned it, just on the loaner I didn't care if I was shifting at 7K every shift. I don't know how you think it's the same size, no rear leg room at all, I adjusted the driver seat just like I do on my TL and tried to get in the back and couldn't and I'm not tall at all. Fit and finish were very nice and I did like that the nav screen is more recessed in the dash so no glare but I still prefer the touch controls, easier than using the joystick.

The tl sound system sounds good but lacks power. Lexus is, infinity G, and BMW 3 series have more powerful systems. If you only care about sound quality at moderate decibels, then the TL system will be fine I guess. ELS is great but it need a DVD-audio listening source to really bring out the quality.

You missed my point. A 225watt 2ohm system is equivilant to a system 450 at 4- ohms. A 225watt 4- ohm stereo would be weaker they are not equals.
