How does it work? What is shown on the display?

Download and install the JETWare Hands-Free extension for Windows Mobile phones. You can find it here:

The website indicates that the only "add on" functions supported on the Acura HFL are singnal strength and battery meter. My own experience with my T-Mobile SDA validates this.

There's a 30 day free trial period, after which the program "dummies down" the active feature set until you regster/activate a purchased version. The only functions supported after the eval period are: you guessed it! Battery meter and singnal strength.

help! I get the HFL to search for the bluetooth phone, but it doesn't find my dash?

Does your get caller ID show up? I have the Dash also and CID doesn't appear, reflash with HTC's rom to get rid of T-Mobile branding, CID still doesn't show up. In both cases, I installed JETWare extension...maybe when WM6 comes out, the BT stack will be update to show CID.

Set the HFL up for pairing, and let it search for a new phone...

On your Dash, go to Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth
Select Menu->Devices->Add New Devices

It would be a good idea to setup the phone at the Add Device screen, so when the HFL start looking for a new phone you won't be fubbling around with the menu. Hope that helps.

I reflashed my DASH with an HTC Rom and have the Jetware extension and I get caller ID displayed. Matter of fact it worked for my old MDA too.

realfresh - to add to what axiom said; you may want to press the HFL button and "delete" any currently paired old phones before re-establishing the partnership with your DASH.

My file name isn't exactly the same as yours ( [1] ) but all the version numbers listed match. mine: RUU_Excalibur_HTC_WWE_1.11.405.4_4.1.13.28_02.63.9 0_Ship

I'm not sure if it showed CID before. I installed the JETware extension as soon as I got the DASH because I knew that I needed it with my MDA.

I've been working with Jonathan.Chance on the determining the culprit that is preventing CID to show up on my MID and he has an '07. Which I believe the HFL have been redesigned.

The JETWare BT Extension is not enabling CID on the MID either.

PS. my HTC Wizard on WM5 shows CID, flash to WM6 no CID.

I drive an 06 TL and my HTC Wizard (MDA) is on WM6 and displays the caller ID number. Make sure in your JETware Mobile under MENU>Advanced Options you have the caller ID box checked.

Faria Crossbow...I am probably going to update it to the new "clean" version that just came out a week ago.

So I went ahead and flashed my Wizard to Faria Crossbow and installed JetWare on it. Made sure Caller ID was checked off in JetWare. Deleted all paired phones from the HFL.

Paired the Wizard.

Called the phone.

Still no Caller ID.

Just for fun, I dusted off my old SE T616 which is listed as one of the compatible phones on HandsFreeLink.com. Deleted all paired phones, paired the T616. Still no CID. The MID displayed "Incoming Call" when the phone rings.

Other then disconnecting the battery, is there another way to reset the MID? I tried System Clear command. But no go with CID.

Other option is to take into Acura and let them have a go at it.

Not sure what to tell you but try disconnecting the battery. BTW...I tried the new"clean" version of Faria and I found it too buggy. What WM6 version where you using prior to the Faira Crossbow?

I disconnected the battery, left if for about 2 hours. Still no CallerID. I read a thread that Rogers (my GSM provider) is sending out +1(areacode) number. Can you check your call history and see if that is the case with yours? Apparently the HFL can't handle the +1, which is really weird since it used to work fine when my wizard was on WM5.

I don't use my Wizard much now that I have the Dash. Prior to putting Faria on it, I had MBE WM6 on it. It was ok, nothing great. I prefer Faria way better and I might try Xplore.

I use T-Mobile USA and it does not have the +1 for phone calls; only on SMS and MMS.

I tried Xplore but it was too plain for me so I switched back to Faira Crossbow but now I am having problems sending emails on my POP3 accounts. I am currently re-flashing as I type to see if that takes care of the problem.

I re-flashed my wizard back to WM5...and Caller ID starts to work again. I am totally stumped.

I'm just wondering if anyone experienced the same. I use the Bluetooth for a year now, previously with the Razr, now with the T-Mobile dash. After about 2-5 minutes (time varies), the phone disconnects from the car and I have to transfer the call to my handset, if I realize in time that this happened. Sometimes I talked like an a.$ for a minute or two only to realize I'm talking to myself. I think this may be a phone problem since it never happened with the Razr. What's funny is the fact that the antenna bars still show on the car screens even though the Bluetooth shows it is off in the phone. I cannot put on the Bluetooth on the phone anymore after the disconnect. If anyone has similar experience let me know.
