I need to clarify, not clipping, but the amps will cut off completely for a period...also, I have the UR underdrive pulley (I think 15% underdrive) and an AudioControl LC7 after the factory amp...at some point I want to delete the factory amp altogether, but I just wonder if replacing the OEM spec battery with a Stinger dry cell (and maybe a higher quality battery ground wire for it) will solve my issues

...sorry for hijacking, there just seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people in here!

how old is your battery?

take your mulimeter....measure voltage at the battery....

than measure battery voltage at your amps..

tell me what you find...

include the specs of your setup...

The battery was replaced early last summer
I measured 12.44v at the battery, cap and amp

Setup:
factory head and amp into AudioControl LC7 (center channel running off of factory amp)
LC7 into JL amps (fronts and rears into one HD600/4 and subs into one HD600/4)
Power from battery fused to Stinger 50 farad hybrid cap with 0 ga JL power wire, out of cap into dist block 4 ga JL power wire to each amp, 12 ga power and ground to LC7, 4 ga grounds for cap and amps.
amps, cap and LC7 grounded to same point.
I have the gains on the LC7 set so that full volume is at about 28 (trying to avoid the distorted range of the factory amp) and the gains on the amps all the way down.

If I left anything out, let me know

I'll also mention that I dropped my daughter off at her bus stop this morning (maybe a 10 min total drive) with the radio off for most of the drive and it has been sitting in the garage since

Correction, the battery is almost 2 years old...batteries don't usually last much longer than that with Georgia summers, so I'll go ahead and order the dry cell and some JL battery terminals. Oh, also, I have the Sun hyper ground/hyper voltage system as well - I don't know if that matters at all

okay.. glad you're still with us.. can't wait for your next update in May..

I just came back from Vegas and Mt Charleston has more snow on it than anyone can remember. An acquaintance of mine who owns a restaurant in Henderson was raving over not having to hit up Utah this season.. think about it, Vegas + Snowboarding..
