Just bought a 2007 TL with Nav a few weeks ago and need to upgrade the sound.
I've been lingering around this forum for a couple of weeks and can see there is a lot of experience here. I've done several installs in the past with varying success. I'm trying to do my homework so I can get this one right on the first try. Any suggestions will be helpful.
My goal is for a decent SQ system with enough thump to enjoy in a daily driver. Secondary goal is to keep the stock look and functionality. Third goal is to reuse many of the components I already have to minimize the cost.
What I already have to work with:
1 set - A/D/S 346CS 6.5" components
2 - Zapco Studio 100 amps (2x50 or 1x100 into 4ohm)
1 - A/D/S R12s sub (12" 4 ohm DVC, 250w per coil 500 peak)
2 - PG Xeon X400.1 amps (1x400 into 4 or 2 ohm)
1 - Audio Control Epicenter
1 - Audio Control DQX (2 channel 3-way xover w/30 band eq)
2 - CDT EF-80 subs (8" 4 ohm SVC)
Plan so far is to replace the front stage with the A/D/S components in stock location. Install both Studio 100's under passenger seat and bridge each to 100w to each component. Install one of my two PG X400.1 amps under driver seat to run the 12" sub in a box in the trunk. Leave stock rear fill and center running off stock amp. Tie into low power signal in front of stock amp for the front stage and sub. Also add a trigger to turn on the amps.
Right now the Epicenter, DQX, one PG X400.1 amp and both 8" subs will go unused. I'm open to adding the epicenter to the sub or DQX to the front stage but am not sure if it will make a difference in this system. Also open to adding the second PG to the other coil of the A/D/S sub. Would also consider switching to a 8" sub sealed in the stock location to not have a box in the trunk if the effort would yield results.
All experiences and opinions welcome. Sorry for the long post. I'm very excited about this project!
Matt
