Suggestions on getting HFL Replaced

My 2004 TL is about 6 months from end of warranty. My
HFL (being an early model) has been useable but acting
flaky with both supported and non supported phones:
locking up during use, locking up during pairing, cracking
popping, noises, lots of dropped or disconnected calls.

I live in Phila area with AT&T service using Moto RAZR now. These problems I can't easily reproduce on demand. An I am not 100% sure how much the HFL
is to blame, but I have had the issue with a variety
of phones.

I have had to disconnect the battery several times to
get it unlocked. Sometimes it is fine for days. Other
times it's near useless.

So I am taking the car in to the dealer for normal
service. Acura says there is no recall or TSB for
the HFL. The dealer refused to do anything unless
1) you are using a FULLY supported phone 2) you
can show them the problem on demand

Any suggestions on getting the HFL module replaced?

I see others have, but my dealer (Piazza) is so
stubborn about this. Used to be when I had a GM
they tripped over themselves to replace every stupid
part to solve an issue.

I am thinking about buying it myself to have them
replace it, but this may just be the nature of the
thing.

bring them the service bulletin; it's technically not a recall, more of a "hey, if your client happens to run into this problem"

My dealer told me at first my car was not affected by it, but then I spoke with someone a 2nd time (after having more issues), and the HFL unit was replaced. They also recently replaced a control unit for the nav/hfl/etc. because of an odd problem I was having

Thanks, in case anybody else was wondering, this is the bulletin
(not sure if it is technically a 'TSB'). My VIN is definitely in the range
given and has the symptoms listed.

I love that both the dealer and Acura CS totally deny that
there is any form of service bulleting, TSB or otherwise,
related to a 2004 TL and the HFL - none whatsoever.

Can't wait to see the dealers expression when I take this
to them this week. Now I still have to get them to fix it.
I was wondering why I have to replace a battery prematurely...hmmm.

Leaving the car with the MID "locked-up" all day and cold weather would
put a strain on it for sure.
