It's only recommended (by me), if you want to have usable trunk space. For performance, it's not highly recommended (by me).

^sub enclosure.

From reading the threads that I posted. The TL's trunk isn't designed to carry sound waves into the cabin. By building the miracle box, the sound enters the cabin through the backseat.

i guess my only route is to take it to a shop to build a custom box so i can still retain some trunk space plus all my air parts.

Or, you can use uncald4's box. It has superior "usability". I can even access my spare tire well with no problems.

I don't want to derail the OP's thread, so this will be my last OT post: Don't think about putting anything bigger than a 10" sub in the box.

I believe he makes each enclosure specific to the sub you use

Actually, I spoke with Travis directly over the phone and he recommended the exact sub that I have, for the box that he was fabricating for me. He knows his stuff, so I went with his exact recommendations.

Even a 6" sub potentially wouldn't be fully utilized in that box. Maybe he'll chime in for his .

My goal was functionality and performance, with an emphasis on functionality. Hence why I went with this specific enclosure.

I've got 2 12W6s in a bandpass ported into the cabin, no bass in the trunk. This is truly the only way to play it at high volumes without worrying about rattles.... and it's so much more efficient. This is the best sounding system I've ever owned and it goes louder than anything I've ever owned. Too bad CSWBiggs is not on here to post pictures of the original. I'll take some pictures this afternoon. I went to get the camera to take pictures and found that the GF had it with her at work so it will have to wait.

Here is the original CSW build which is what I copied. Mine looks much more ghetto as it was my first attempt at building a box.

I agree the box is likely too small (hard to tell by looking at it) but it does look to be ported on either side.

That's a port?

That box is def too small

If they were ported, the 15 needs about 6 cubes after port and sub displacement.

Yep. Probably too small for a sealed, even worse if it's ported.

apparently, he didn't know shit.

those subs need MASSIVE sized boxes to perform properly.

Honestly, even with 2 12's ported, u wouldn't be able to fit the proper enclosure in that trunk.

If u want to do it right, ditch them for better spl subs.

If u like it, keep it the way it is.

But do know that they can sound way better and get alot louder in a better box

It really pisses me off when shops take advantage of folks who don't know much about audio.

hmm how massive does it have to be? could one be in the same box and work?

it sounds pretty fucking loud and clear as is, way better than my ported kicker box in my honda

Originally Posted by I hate cars

the sound from the box is BIG and clear/smooth so he cant have messed it up to bad

my only qualm is the lack some high bass in the old school jungle tunes i play often, was thinking of getting another smaller sub

thoughts?

higher notes? screams lack of midbass.

How's your front stage looking?

1 may be able to fit.

the 15 calls for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 cubic feet for each.

You should aim for around 4 cubes after port and sub displacement.

This is an old pic, since then i put in a 2400 watt orion amp on the floor behind the subs and tinted the tail lights darker.

3 - 12" pioneer premier subs
2400 watt orion competition amp

Here is my last set-up but I changed some things around since then.

TC Sounds TC-1000 in a small sealed box with an Alpine PDX.1-600 for power. Nothing flashy just clean sound

Quick Reply: subwoofers
