Subwoofer replacement

Has anyone replaced there stock subwoofer with an aftermarket one and kept it in the same place where the stock one is at? very interested in this

Agreed. TONS of threads on this and I don't think any have been satisfied. If you're looking for an upgrade, the first thing I would do is decide what type of enclosure, sealed, ported, bandpass, or IB. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages.

That's a shame. If there was a simple fix/upgrade, I'd probably do it too.

i'm happy with my 8" kicker in stock location, but it's not powered by the stock amp

yeah i already have a sealed box with a JL w6 in my car i just wanted a cleaner look and to free up some more trunk space.. thanks for the input

I would keep the W6 and go infinite baffle with it. You solve the trunk space problem and its going to sound better and get louder than any kicker 8" sub in that configuration. Plus the W6 looks nice when its in an IB setup.
