Subwoofer Rattles

I have been having this problem since i bought the car. I dont understand what is wrong with it.

1) I got the subwoofer tray replaced the 3rd week after i bought this brand new car at the dealership. It made a huge difference

Now I have the same problem again. When I play CDs on the the songs with a insignificant bass it rattles. However, it only does it sometimes when the radio is on.

I have had this car since Labor Day 2006 I love everything about it, except the sound system. I want the bass to hit and not sound bad.

I have an oil change appointment at the dealer

Any suggestions on what i should do....

Dynamat.... TL's are infamous for rattling so I don't know.. if you're still under warranty go to dealership and see what they can do for it.

If you want to get rid of the rattles, you'll need to take the situation into your own hands (and wallet). Get yourself some sound deadening material...eDead, Hushmat, Dynamat...all good products. Also go to your local craft store and buy yourself some polyfill and batting (located in the same area of the store...polyfill is bulk, batting is the same thing in thick sheets of it).

Play some music where you get a lot of rattling and crawl inside and out of your car to locate the problem areas. From there start tearing the car apart and deaden everything. It's not all that difficult...just takes a bit of time.

I just did my front doors and trunk lid this weekend. The next step is to take out everything from the backseats rearward and deaden it as well. It improves SQ of your music, and it makes your car quieter inside and out.

Be sure to shop around... A case of dynamat extreme 36 sq ft (I think) shouldnt be more than 120ish.

Also dont get carried away

And here is the trunk lid:

I had the same problem. It drove me nuts. Try this first. There is a flap or plastic cover over a baby seat hook on top of the back dash board. Right above the seat right in the middle. Lift it up. Keep it up. See what happens. Sounds to easy but it worked for me. It was that easy. No rattle here at all. Now I crank it up bass an all an sounds great. Just try it. Let me know if it works.
