If I'm on the freeway and alone, 40. IMHO, it's about 1/2 the volume my A4 had. It's sad.

You will not blow the speakers by playing one song a little too loud, IMO. I regularly play mine (2007 TL-S stock) from 35-40(max)... this includes CD's, radio, and xm. The volume does not play loud enough to blow the speakers. You WILL wear them down faster, the louder you play it. So, eventually the speakers will degrade and potentially 'blow'. But it will take awhile(years). I've been blasting mine for 2+ years and they still sound good. No fuzziness. The ELS system is pretty tame for how much Acura advertises it.

Ofcourse, I am assuming you have your bass and treble set properly for clarity. Not everyone knows how to set that stuff. Don't turn your bass and treble all the way up and you'll be fine. Also, if you live somewhere that gets cold, let your car warm up before blasting your radio. Really cold air tightens up the speakers a bit(specifically the rubber/foam around the woofers).

One exception: I have recently began hooking up my iphone/ipod to the aux input...and with my iphone volume turned all the way up the music is much louder than cd/radio/xm. I don't go past 30 in this case.

hmm.. i usually listen to music at about 20-25. after a while the stock sub starts to rattle, but you can get it insulated at the dealership for free its under warranty. but the other speakers and the tweeters there's usually no problems.
