Still a NOOB - Hansfreelink Booting

Yeah, I'm still a NOOB.

My HFL comes up with the dreaded "booting" message. I searched the forum (and Google) - tried pulling fuse #6 and disconnecting the battery for about a minute. Neither of these worked.

It seems that this means the HFL module would have to be replaced. Can anyone confirm that this is my last choice?

Assuming the HFL is shot, anyone have an idea on replacement cost?

Many thanks!
Steve

Try bleeding down the capacitors .. you need to disconnect the battery and jump then two cables together for 15 min or so then retry it.

I didn't get the boot message but I lost pairing and they replaced the module under warranty .. said cost was around $600.

Thanks, I'll try that.

I noticed that I had to re-enter the Navi code, but not the radio, so maybe a longer wait time is required.

$600 for HFL is pretty much out of the question ;-)

Thanks!

Thanks!

I experienced the "booting" error on 3-4 occasions since the car was new. The first time, the "boot error" didn't go away until the a cold start the next day; the other times since, the boot error went away on the next ignition cycle- turning the car back on after errands.

It hasn't happened to my car for many months. If that's the case with your car, you may want to leave the HFL alone, even if you are in warranty, where the pairing, HFL mike and reception are working well.

Welcome to AZ.

Funny thing is...my 08 TL-S is doing this too! I tried disconnecting the battery and that didnt work. I'll try bleading the capacitators. Now when you say jump positive and negative, you mean touch the negative terminal with the positive?

Touch and hold the + & - battery leads together for 10 to 15 minutes .. I used a jumper to connect them ...

DO NOT jump the battery terminals.
