Steering wheel buttons not as bright?
I just noticed that the steering wheel buttons are definitely not as bright as the rest of the cars buttons. Anyone else notice this? Any way to fix this?
None of them are burnt out... They are all the same brightness and are adjusted like the rest of the car lights. They are just way dimmer than the rest. Will replacing all of then really help? Is it a pain to do?
If you replace the steering wheel buttons with LEDs, they'll be too bright compared to all the other lights, which will make you want to replace all lights with LEDs.
OP, I think that's just the way they are. These bulbs usually work or don't work. I don't think it's worth worrying about.

I also agree with guitarplayer16. Bulbs usually work or not.. If they are just dim, there may or may not be anything wrong. I think they are not very bright to begin with. Like guitarplayer16 said, it may not be worth messing with. If you put in LED's, you could pop a fuse if they do not have the right resistance. The simple LED's, have zero resistance and that will short out the other bulbs and then you will not be able to see the other bulbs.. But I took 1 LED apart that I got from superbrightLEDS.com and there was a mini resistor buried inside the plastic of the neo wedge LED. But still, there is some risk involved.
For navigation, the OEM bulbs are rated differently because some need to be brighter or dimmer based on their mounting position and if it has to light up 2 buttons or just 1 button. So, there is a difference there. If you install LED's, all those will be rated the same brightness and some of your buttons brighter or dimmer than the others. (best case scenario, if you dont pop a fuse) So then in that case, get a black Sharpie or a black magic marker and shade the tip of the brighter LED's so that the bright ones will be dimmed to match the rest.

Chad, I was thinking about changing my navi bulbs. This is the 1st I read about blowing other bulbs or a fuse. More then half my bulbs are out and i was going to do the t3 bulbs, you have me thinking now.
I hope i have enough tho..
Does anyone know the total bulbs of the dash and steering wheel?
I believe the reason that the steering wheel bulbs are dimmer is because they don't bother your eyes. If they were brighter, they could bother a person trying to concentrate on the road at night because they are only a few degrees below your line of vision.
:
they have different colors led bulbs. I'm going try to use white for the bulbs that light up two buttons and blue for the that light one.
