Speakers have gone..kaboom! HELP!
Well it looks like my loud music finally killed my speakers, haha. Well at least 2 of them. Both my front door speakers in my 04 TL are dunzo. I noticed about a month ago while cleaning the front driver floorboard that the driver speaker did not work, and oddly enough the other day I am cleaning again and the passenger side everything was fine. Today I go to the post office and I have a cd in, volume is on 28...and CRACK there goes the passenger one. My ear is actually kind of ringing from the pop/crack. I don't care to take it to Acura, I actually would PERFER that because I don't like shitty jobs done and my local dealer is awesome. But wanted to know what other members have done when this has happened? Price ranges to fix? IF it's easy to fix MYSELF? (I mod the car plenty, just don't mess with electrical stuff). Any help would be nice, I'm mainly just wanting to get some prices and ideas from whom this has happened to before.

well at least he will be able to read even if he can't hear you.
OP i would get some speakers to test with before outright replacing them just to make sure the amp didn't bite the bullet..... it is unusual to blow speakers on a factory system specially on a car that is at least 4 years old.....and believe it or not, the speakers typically can handle full volume of the system unless it is clipping or distoring badly...

Goes to at least 33...
Yes, normally I'm listening at or below 8.

Speakers usually just stop working. The amp would be more likely to make the loud pop you describe.

It goes up to 40 for those who are saying 30-33. And only 5 and 8?? How do you even hear anything?! I can't even listen to Sinatra any lower than 20 and I hear just fine haha. Maybe my system is wack? But the passenger door speaker is working again. Just kinda cracking sounds off and on? The driver is still dead has been. Where is the "amp"? I know the subwoofer is the center one in the back but have no clue how to test any of the speakers.

I have 1,000w on the fronts and I still crank it to 20 or so at least once a day.
