Hey I have a 2005 Acura TL 6MT with navigation and I want to change out the speakers and upgrade the Amp and Sub-woofer so Can somebody help me out and tell me what are the Speaker sizes are throughout the TL. The reason I ask is because I have gotten Conflicting answers in speaker size and it is starting to piss me off... So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

All 4 speakers are 6.5" - components up front & full-range in back (although the stock rears have no tweets). You can install up to what Crutchfield calls 6.75" in these spaces. And depth does not seem to be an issue either. I just put in 6.5" Focal A1's with no problems - other than I'm not thrilled w/ the sound thus far. But everything fits behind the factory grills so it's impossible to know anything has been upgraded by looking at it.

The stock sub is 8" w/ a lovely cardboard cone. If you're going w/ an external amp just get a new sub of any size in a sealed box instead of replacing the existing one on the shelf. One 8" sub is crap for almost any setup. I put in a JL W1 10" in a sealed box in the trunk and it's perfect for everyday listening. It's also super-easy to remove when extra trunk space is needed.
