Hey everyone, I'm brand new here, just coming from Maxima.org! Got an 04 ABP TL last week.
I'm a huge audiophile haha, and the first thing I wanna do to this car is replace the speakers. The speakers I have are the Hybrid Audio Clarus series. They are 6.5" speakers with ~2 7/8" mounting depth. I understand the mounting specs for the ELS front door speakers are 2 1/8" and 6.25-6.5 (?) Inches. What do I have to do to make the Clarus speakers fit? I dont really want to settle for different speakers as these are $630 and I don't want to let them go :|

 

The front door speakers have a little white enclosure that they are mounted to... You can cut the back out of it and it should be more than enough from to mount some that are 3/4" deeper...

 

or mount it in some decent rings and dampen the door and seal it up

 

I think I'll do both the more depth the better. Will a 6.5" driver fit in that hole? I've read that the hole is both 6.25 & 6.5". Much confuse.
