Source for connectors?

Has anyone identited the vendor for the (audio) connector blocks, and a retail source? My TL is leased so I'd like to build my own harnesses for my voc/amps/speakers, to avoid wire-splicing whenever possible.

For example, the block for the 20P and 14P blocks at the amp and the speaker connectors.

I've found the 14p input connectors at these places:

eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

or Mobile Emotions:

http://mobile-emotions.com/car-insta...a-2008-tl.html

I've yet to find the 20p output connectors. If you find them please post where.

I wish I knew how to edit a previous post.

The above post has the connector descriptions reversed. The 20p connectors are the input connectors to the stock amp and the 14p connector is the output.

Thanks - it is a bit confusing. Per my service manual:

Stereo Amplifier Connector A [14P]: 14 pins, asymetrical housing shape, is the speaker connections (out) *and* the power/ground (in).

Stereo Amplifier Connector B [20P]: 20 position, 14 used, symmetrical shape, speaker signals from from the HU and the On and Mute lines.

and the amp side.

And any info on the 14P connector is appreciated. I took apart the amp, and the only ID on the 14p connector is a "cloverleaf" shaped trademark, and "1P" next to it. ???

I came across this problem of looking for a connector.
Here's what I've found:
"for anyone who actually finds this. Many people complain about whoring out how to get brand new OE Honda connectors, plugs and receptacles. AMP produces these connectors and they are sold by tyco electronics.

Start here: www.tycoelectronics.com

[removed]

The type of connectors in OBD1 Honda/Acura applications are called MULTILOCK. Click that link then click MULTILOCK connectors and contacts.

At this point we are able to narrow down the type of connector that we want. If you want the receptacle cap with the pins already there, go to show all options under product type and select housing assembly. If you want the empty housing just select housing.

Now, OBD1 connectors have two rows. Select two rows to narrow it down even further.

I think you get the point now. You can either choose the receptable cap (the part on the ecu itself) or the plug (what plugs into the ecu).

OBD1 configuration is 16, 22, 26 for the connector mating pins with a total of 64 pins. the receptacle configuration is 040/070 Hybrid.

goodluck. "

And here is the exact link to look for your connectors: http://www.tycoelectronics.com/catal...15,14998,14415

Good luck. 1385 matching products.

Did you ever find the amp connector? I don't think it's an AMP connector and if it is, I've scoured the site and can't find any in that multilock family.

I think mouser.com works with TE.. but here it is anyway. Sometimes they have honda in the description. Most of the time, not.

If you click the "data sheet" link, it goes to TE.com

This is the place for anything connector wise. I found everything I needed here when I was doing a Plug and Play OEM Navi for my 05 Subaru legacy
