Sirius Antenna placement

I am looking to add Sirius in the next week or so. I wanted to ask y'all where did you add your antenna. I have heard a few people say inside the back window, the trunk, and the roof.

So for those who HAVE Sirius (to filter those who have an opinion, but do not have it)

Please share your experiance as to where you had your antenna mounted.

I am not looking for those with the winshield/thrown on dash...

I am not looking for a XM/Sirius debate...I just want the opinion of those who have Sirius installed mounted antenna.

Thanks a bunch!

What is it about the antenna on the dash that you don't like? That's how I have mine and I get perfect reception, the placement/install was easy, and it looks cleaner because you don't have this thing on the exterior of your car.

i have my sirius antenna on the drivers side corner of the dash. never had a reception problem mostly full strenth. i wedged the wires down that side and fished it under the dash. i can hardly notice it and neither could anybody else bc it is right behind the inspection stickers.

Here's a pic of my antenna from the outside. When you're in the car, you almost can't see it since it is behind the front "lip" of the dashboard. I have my wire tucked in behind the windshield and it goes under my steering column and back behind to where the unit is.

Mostly just laziness I suppose. It would be better to be more stealth for sure. But the way I have it is almost not noticeable. The picture makes it look more noticeable than it is in real life. You really have to look for it to even notice it. I think having the black interior helps with that. So basically, it doesn't bother me enough to go about ripping up my interior to hide it where the XM one is.

mounted mine on the front of the roof. into the sunroof under the passenger visor, down the inside of the a pillar slipped between the door and the side of the dashboard then into the passenger footwell tucked all the excess wire into a little space under the glove box then the wire runs around to the center console into my starmate. total time to run wire under 5 minutes. its admittedly a ghetto job but the wires are out of my way and its too cold to do it properly. in the spring I'll be hardwiring the power connecting the audio up ans looking for a better spot for the antenna. curious about mounting it with the xm unit
