This is a link to contact panasonic regarding the els sound system. Maybe if we show them that we need an ipod solution they will listen.

It seems like the issue of linking our I-PODS to our Navigation/Stereo's has not been discussed in awhile.
So I'll bring it back for further exploration.
I just e-mailed ELS and Monstercable asking if either have a way for us to link together yet.
If anyone knows if this issue has been resolved let us all know, otherwise we should increase the pressure for a solution.

Does bluetooth have the bandwidth to maintain the quality of mp3 audio? Also, the bluetooth connection b/w my phone and the TL is pretty low-quality, though it is clear and relatively static free. I don't think our existant bluetooth system in the TL has any capacity to accomodate a future bluetooth 'Pod.

Ipod Bluetooth is here..........

But others have said that the TL only has BT through the front speakers and not connected to the stereo head in any way?
I sent a request to Dennison as well.
The reply was "Stay tuned for next week. We are working on a solution."

A Bluetooth dongle that attaches to the iPod, as seen above.
It would pair with a Bluetooth "cassette" that plays in the casette deck. It would be a two-way link, so the audio goes from the iPod to the casette and transport controls go from the casette to the iPod. You could put the iPod in the center console storage and the casette would live in the player. It would auto-power up and down when the transport is playing or not.
Maybe I should patent this idea.
There are at least two external iPod bluetooth adapters you can plug into the iPod. One you can see at www.drbotti.com
In my latest issue of MacWorld, I just read an article on a new cassette adapter by Griffin Technologies called the SmartDeck. It lets you play your iPod through the cassette adapter, but allows the cassette controls (and the steering wheel controls) pause, play and advance your iPod.
It's certainly not full integration, but it does look like an interesting step in that direction.
