SE 637 is a perfect match for TL

I have read these threads for months and had my heart set on the moto v600, but after reading the problems, I wouldn't have one. I changed my service to cingular because they have better gsm coverage and I bought the se 637. It works perfectly with the hf system. the signal and battery displays work and there are no echo issues and the audio quality is great. Try the se 637 and you will agree. I don't work for sony. My previous phone was a seimens s46 gsm. I had bad coverage with at&T. Even though cingular is buying att, you would think they were already sharing the same repeater sites. The coverage improved when I switched carriers.

Couldn't agree with you more. The 637 is great. Had riders in the car yesterday for the first time when I answered a call and it blew them away. The only problem I have is the random "phone" display on the radio sometimes as explained in another therad. Don't have a fix yet but it's not really a big deal to me. I highly recommend it.

Some ppl ever complained the cluttered buttons would be issues for them, plus some others dislike its styling. Would you feel that way?

I also use the T637 and was worried about the buttons. However, they are raised and fit my "delicate" (200 pound 58 yr old retiree) fingers perfectly. T637 also has a nicer display (better res) compared to the Nokia 6820 I traded.

I agree. At first I didn't think anthing about the buttons but then after reading some of the complaints here I did notice that they were kind of small.

But to be honest, its not any big deal. Otherwise the phone works great.
The only thing I would change is the phonebook interface but again no biggie.

I have the 637, and I did express my frustration with the buttons, but I'm getting used to the size and spacing, and I've learned to used the side of my thumb to dial - if that makes sense.

I'm hearing that in a few months there will be some really cool new blue tooth phones, but for now the 637 is the complete package, and probably the only complete package.

When a better bluetooth comes out, I'll sell my 637 on ebay and get it.

A quick recommendation for anyone else reading this thread to give a serious look to the Z600 if you like SE functionality in the clamshell form factor. $249 unlocked from myworldphone.com. It has the typical T610/T616 quirks with HFL but works well nonetheless.

The only thing I dislike about this phone is talking on it in my hand
(being a flip lover),
other than that I love everything about it - once you get used to
it, it's fantastic.

If you haven't already tried, the Bluetooth/PC/Outlook sync works great
once you get it setup.

Static level seems a bit higher than with the V600 I have/had, but not
a major issue. Battery life also WAY better han V600 and I leave the
Bluetooth on all the time.

BTW, I just sent my T637 back to Sony for repair, (it just died and Cingular
had none of these to replace it with, buy Sony was nice). I am curious
what I'll get back if it'll have a firmware upgrade on it.

How do you check the firmware version and what do Cingular people have?

i bought the 637 (cingular) last week and the firmware version is R3A025. You can see which firmware version you have by pressing:

>*<<*<* and then select Service Info and then SW Information.

< = joystick left

How much did you guys pay for the phone? i see it for $130 in Cingulars site. Im thinking of buying this phone looks like the most affordable out of the other bluetooth phones. the only thing i don't like about the phone is the size and not sure if theres a flash on it, kinda sucks coming from this phone http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...716191002&rd=1. if it wasn't for the TL then i have no need to purchase another cell. the 637 and the moto v600 looks like it matches great for the car interior.

please tell me how you got this deal. I'm not seeing anything close to that at Cingular stores in LA ($119 with $50 mail in rebate = $69), and I'm sure you signed a 2 year contract, right? thanks

Check Amazon. I got mine for $150 with $200 in rebates!
That's with Cingular. I think it was like $150 less $50 from the Cingular store.
