Kinda expensive for what is 1hr of work. Handy or not its really easy to do, espically if its a shop doing it. Ask what their hourly rate is and ask how long they expect to be working on it. If they say more than 90 minutes they are really ripping you off. Even if they charge $100/hr it should be no more than $150......

$180 includes part itself.

don't pay it. Go to the acura meets section and check for someone who can help your out and as well you can lean and gain some experience. try contacting BLACKURA_NY, he might be able to help you out.

That sounds like a good deal if it includes the USA Spec itself. I think they're usually around $120, so $60 isn't that bad for labor. Does this unit have the onscreen txt w/ Navi?

The USA Spec does not provide onscreen text. But, it also does not require any trade-offs with your XM Display.

Since this doesn't support text, is the only PRO over using the AUX plug the ability to charge?

Nope - better sound and controls through the steering wheel would be the principal differences (in addition to charging). And, on 04-06 TL's, there is no AUX plug so some of us don't have that choice (like me).
