Reset Nav?

How do I reset the nav system - aka the address book and such. I bought my 08' TL from my mom and want to clear out the navigation info. Also, anyone know prices on updating the GPS?

The data can be cleared through the "Settings" button below the Navi screen; IDR whether it's in tab 3 or 4.
The owner's manual and Navi manuals are in link "iii." of the 3G TL Service Dept./Garage thread here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-service-department-aka-garage-questions-answers-check-here-first-553557/.

Updating the '07-'08 TL GPS requires purchase of a new "white" Navi DVD from Navteq, which can be found on the Acura ownerlink website or through Google; I think it's $149 plus shipping now.

Welcome to AZ.

Are you trying to clear out the previous destinations, delete an imported phone book or clear out saved addresses?

Settings, tab 2 (not 3 or 4), and relevant pages in the 2008 Navi manual:
Setup Screen (second) ...................73
Personal Information .....................74
Address Book ................................... 74
Home Address.................................. 77
PIN Number ..................................... 78
User Name ....................................... 79
Previous Destinations...................... 79

you can reset it in diagnostic menu, when it asks what map you want, choose one and it will restart and all settings back to default and everything erased. hold menu cancel and map for 5 seconds to enter diagnostic menu

Resetting previous destination is fairly simple as follows -

Setup -> More -> Personal Information -> Previous Destinations -> Delete All.

In terms of deleting the address book, I didn't see an easy way to clear them all at once. However you can delete them one at a time, which may be a pain the the but. You have to select the individual address and then you have the option of deleting.

I don't know that I understand what paperboy has laid out and have not tried it, but it may work.
