Tried 3 times to get the $77 deal. Got it on the 3rd try.

I did as "the script" said...

1. Called to make sure they would not renew and to let the subscription cancel. They didn't make an offer to keep me, so I just cancelled.

2. After my subscription ran out, I called the number in "the script" and read the line in "the script". "Ruth" wouldn't let me renew at $77 because I used it last year.

3. Called the number again and read the line in "the script". She put me on hold for about 10 minutes and then another guy came on the line. He asked what he could do for me and I read the line from "the script" again. He said that I had already taken advantage of that offer and he would only be able to renew me at the $154 a year price. I said no thanks, please cancel my subscription. He said, as a one-time offer, he would be able to offer me a $9.99/mo package. I said, it's for my third vehicle, so I don't really need it. He then offered me the $77 deal. Whew!

I got a little discouraged after the 2nd call, but hung in there until I got the $77 deal. Nice. :-)

XM expired in October but due to business travel did not get around to calling to cancel but radio was still working. Called to see why it was still working but I knew why. They said as I suspected that they renewed for 3 months at $38. I told them I wanted to cancel. Last year they just canceled and did not offer the $77 for a year. This time they switched me over to the cancellation department, waited on hold for awhile. A woman came on asked several questions, I told her I was not using it much and wanted to cancel but I also implied about the cost. She offered 3 months at $4 a month. I asked about the $77 and she said she could give it to me. So I am back on for the third year with the deal!!
The first year I let it expire, waited and got the $77 card after two months, just a call toi get it. The second year I had to cancel, wait till it expired and then use the script because they would not budge in offering the deal. This year was smooth, who knows??

Got the $77 offer in the mail, about a month or so after my free trial expired. This is also after I told them I wasn't interested in the higher rate, but I think I'm going to sign up for it for $77.

I just got a card in the mail for the $77 deal, my 3 month free trial ended about 2 months ago. I got a few other cards before it that offered it for like $150 / year or something like that... just goes to show you that persistence will save you some loot! haha ... I don't really want to spend the money right now, but I figure at less than $6.50 / month you can't go wrong.

Talk about needing to keep your head on a swivel!

I didn't think anything about the fact that the previous owner of my car had xm (since I sampled it a few days before it expired) thus already had an account. I played dumb when they couldn't find my right info and eventually got to clean slate it.

Long story short, 1 year for 77, thanks!

As a brand new member of this great community, I would like to thank everyone for their contribution.

I have just signed up on this deal. I told them that "I just purchased the car and the previous owner gave me this card" and told them 2 magic sentence.

You can sign up as a new member and get this deal.

Thanks everyone ,

Burak

Definitely just got the $77 a year with NavTraffic for $3.95 a month. Didnt have to do anything. My trial was almost up, they called and offered me $154 a year, i told them I had a flyer laying around the house that had $77 a year and wait a sec while i look for it and he said no worries, gave me that plus a free 1 month trial of Best of Siruis. I can now enjoy 4 more weeks of NFL on my radio for free! Thank You AZ Community!

Called the 800-XM-RADIO, didn't work. She asked for my promo code, gave her zwinback, then she said I already took advantage of that offer last year and she can't give it to me for this year. So I asked to get transfered to a general manager so I can dispute the situation. Talked to the assistant manager and she asked for a savings code? I told her the flyer doesn't have a savings code, only a promo code and that's $77/year. She still wouldn't give it to me. Made me read the promo code and said she still need the savings code. Went on for a good 20 minutes, late for work. Next day called 800-682-4114 and got through with a breeze. He didn't ask for any codes. I just had to leave it on Channel 1 for 20 minutes for it to reactivate. *sigh* but it's worth it =)

Has anybody been able to get the XM Everything Package at the $77 rate plus the best of Sirius for an additional $4/mo? I just called them to do this and apparently the $77 deal only applies to the XM Everything package. If you add the XM Everything Plus The Best of SIRIUS they want $187/year.

Tine to renue

My free subscription expires at end of month and so does my Traffic. could the 77 offer work for me also the traffic to. Problem is that when i called to register i also got the discounted add on unit for a different car. thing is that you have to keep that unit for a year in order to get it at discount price but question is that do you think i would be able to combine all three at the same time XM/TRafic on my TL S and the portable unit. Probably not for the second unit, some one please help.

I am very upset with the XM merger that took place today, they just dumped the disco channels "Chrome" and "Strobe" from Sirius, they should have kept at least one of them. My days with satellite radio are almost done.

I just did it again... this will be my 4th year! I called to cancel the auto-renewal and said that it was just too much and that I think I paid half that last year. The guy said, "yeah, you were on a 'winback' promo for $77 last year." I said, "yeah, if it was that again I'd keep it, but not for $145...".... He then said, "So if I can get it to rollover for $77 you'll keep it?"... "yes"... "ok, let me see what I can do"..... "great"..... "sir, I'm able to do that for you..."... "excellent!"....

Does this also work with the traffic feature? I just traded an '05 for a new '08TL and am about to run out of the 90 day grace period.

Just tried it, and got the $77 no problem. Used the script. No hassle at all.

However, when I asked if Stern was included, they said no, and tried to up-sell me to a very expensive deal. I think it was $188 a year. They also offered $456 for 3 years for XM everything plus best of Sirius.

I decided to wait and see if they come out with any promos in the next few weeks/months that include the Best of Sirius.

Just wanted to thank Acurazine for this opportunity. I am on my second year at $77. However, unless XM makes some changes, this will be my last.

As most of you know, XM/Sirius has just made major programming changes resulting from the merger. Several stations have been eliminated or their content has been moved to other stations. In particular, there used to be a combined 6 stations devoted to classical music programming. As of last Wednesday, there are now only three. The VOX and XM classics stations have ceased to exist. Thus, previous XM subscribers have just had their service cut, without warning. If you are a classical music fan, then this is a big deal. I know some other music stations have been cut as well.

I urge all of you who care about this issue to call, write, e-mail, etc. to complain. Even cancel your subscription if you feel strongly about this.

XM's address is:

XM Satellite Radio, Inc.
PO Box 33174
Detroit, MI 48232-5280

E-mail to listenercare@xmradio.com, or to Patrick Reilly (preilly@siriusradio.com)

If you want your message to be heard, do NOT renew and tell them why you don't like the new channel lineup. For me, No disco (Chrome channel) = No XM

I somehow got a year of xm and nav traffic for 65 dollars.

I called up and said i wanted to reup but really was disapointed that all my channels had commercials and said that it wasn't the full amount when I could listen to HD radio for free. they said that they are sorry and that there is nothing they can do, I then said I would like to cancel. XM put me on hold and said that the only promo they could find was 60% off a year's promo price, which eneded up being cheaper then the 77.

I called back saying I wanted to reup navtraffic but said that the flow data isnt in my town so I asked if there was a reduced rate since I am not getting all the features. They said that they didn't have a reduced rate. I mentioned that it was a little obsurd to have to pay if I can't get all the services. The XM lady put me on hold and then later came back saying that she could bundle everything for 65 dollars. I was a little shocked about that, but agreed.

Later I called back and found out that I recieved a 57 dollar credit (service adjustment) and it all boiled down to about 65 dollars for a year. I can't complain and must have been very lucky.

It does work...again and again. I just got it for the 3rd time.

I have 3 radios on a family plan and was NOT going to pay $155 for a year, plus the $6.99/mo per additional radio. When I asked the 1st CSR to cancel, I was transferred to cancellations dept. The cancellations person didn't hestitate for a moment. She immediately told me I didn't need to cancel because she would be able to give me the $77 plan again for an additional year. I never even needed to mention the promo code. The whole process took about 5 min.

Long live XM!!!

I have a 6 moth subscription that ends at the end of Dec. I called yesterday and told the cancellation rep it was too expensive and I did not want to auto re-new. She asked if I enjoyed XM, I said yes. She offered me a $119.40 for one year; I declined stating it was still too much. She then offered me the $77.00 deal and I accepted. Thanks AcuraZine!

No dice so far

I called last week to make sure I wasn't going to auto renew, but they didn't offer me any promo prices (I've gotten the $77 deal twice). They transferred me to the "cancellations dept." and the woman said that because I had already taken advantage of the promo pricing in the past I wasn't eligible for it. So she cancelled and closed out my account. On Thursday XM went dead. I'm hoping to sign up again for the $77 deal. How long should I wait to say I have received the flier in the mail? What number(s) are folks using because is seems like there are quite a few. Can someone send me the link to "the script" so I get it right?

Thanks in advance

That happened to me the second time I tried getting the $77 deal, my XM wound up getting disconnected. They wouldn't give it to me. I called a few days later and asked to renew for $77 and they did it no questions asked.

The third time, I called to cancel after they had automatically renewed me on a month-to-month plan, and after reviewing my account, the guy said, "I see we gave you a $77/yr deal last yr, if we offer it to you again, would you stay?" And I said "yes", and it was a done deal.

This latest time (4th time) I called to cancel after again getting auto-renewed at a high rate. The lady asked why, and I told her because I don't listen to it much (it's actually true.. I've been taking mass transit a lot lately). She then asked if I enjoy any particular channels and I named a few... she came back with some deal around ~$120/yr. I told her, "Well if you can give me the $77/yr deal I'll stay" and she said, "yes" and that was it!

Keep trying... it can be frustrating, but you'll get the deal once you get the right customer service representative.

This just worked again for me for the 3rd straight year... thank you as always!

This year I called and asked them what I signed up for last year (of course I knew) and they took a second to check and then came back 20 secs later and just said "sure we'll give you the $77 deal again".

EZ!
