Removing under dash panels

Needs ome help with how to removing the under dash panel from a 2007 type S. I want to remove the plastic side panel where the fuse box is located so i can install a direct wire connection for a radar detector. It am afraid if i just pull on it i will break it but i only see one fastener near the top and dont know exactly how to remove it. Just taking the cover for the fuse box off i dont have enough room to get a ground wire attached to anything. I plan on using one of the extra slots in the fuse box for the positive wire. Any help with getting that panel off or the panel above the pedals would do the trick. Have the escort 9500i and the coil cord is hideous to look at and creats pull on one side of the detector. Thanks !

I went through the entire answer here, and the one panel I want to get under is the large one that is just above the pedals. There is one rubber fastener of some sort about in the middle at the firewall. One more similar around right knee. How do these release?
